Brides Magazine - April 2010

extract from brides magazine - April 2010

A once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon calls for a once-in-a-lifetime experience and seeing chimpanzees in the wild offers just that. Head to the Mahale Mountains, on the shores of Lake Tanganyika in Tanzania, where you can trek through tropical rainforest that's home to nine different species of primate, including the world's largest population of chimpanzees.

Reached by a flight from Arusha, followed by a 90-minute boat journey, Greystoke Mahale is a small luxury camp set on a beach on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. With just six thatched bandas furnished used timber from old dhows, all with en-suite bathrooms and outside decks, it is one of the most remote and beautifully located camps in Africa.
