Ali is one of our many success stories. Having grown up near Arusha, he joined Nomad back in 1999 - a young man with no experience under his belt. He gradually worked his way up from waiter, to the tricky role of manager in our mobile camps, and after a great deal of hard work and study he finally achieved his dream of joining the prestigious ranks if the Nomad Northern Guides. He has aspirations still of becoming a world class guide and we think he's well on his way. Ali loves all his wild places but Mahale and the chimps are particularly close to his heart, because of its remoteness. The strangest thing he's ever been asked by a guest is "do elephants eat meat?" The answer of course is "only lightly sautéed hotdogs".
