Clyde & Helen, Lamai Serengeti
Helen and Clyde started their careers in the African safari world way back in 2007. After years of hotel management on cruise ships sailing out of the US it was time for a new chapter and they found the African wild was calling. Leaving the wide open sea behind they started gaining the necessary skills to manage the challenges of working in remote corners of Africa, and before they knew it they were off into the bush to manage a camp in Botswana.
They quickly learnt how to adapt to life in the bush, and discovered that there is nothing a cold gin and tonic cannot fix, even facing a charging elephant! They have a amazing eye for detail and a very genuine passion for hospitality of the highest standards, but their interests stretch beyond that and they are keen on all aspects of the ecology and sustainable development within the areas that they work in. They truly believe that conservation, community and tourism need to symbiotically work together to ensure the magical Serengeti survives for our future generations.
