Paddy MacMullen, Technical Operations
Paddy started his time with Nomad as a relief camp manager immersing himself in the Tanzanian bush and quickly experiencing all of Nomad’s camp. Now Paddy is our Technical Operations Manager, overseeing and organizing all new camp builds, camp refurbishment, restoration, vehicles, firearms and technical management. Paddy’s ability to have a chat and a beer with anyone means there are a lot of practical jokes that he and his team get up to in the office and in the bush.
Born and raised in Norfolk, UK, Paddy has always had a love for nature and game. His mother is a forestry consultant and his father a conservation advisor, both experts in their fields. A country boy at heart, from a young age he was rarely seen inside, his love for the outdoors (and fishing in particular) means he’s a natural when it comes to operating in the bush. If only we could get him off the Rufiji River and Lake Tanganyika, and spend more time working.
Once Paddy finished his Middle Eastern Politics degree at the University of Leeds, he moved to London to work for one of the world’s leading sporting agencies. Paddy swapped St. James’ for Tanzania in 2015, arriving into the Nomad office fresh faced from the UK, now he’s a permanent feature and a key member in the Nomad team.
