Mkombe's House Lamai opens 1st July 2015
LOCATION: Mkombe’s House Lamai is located in the northern Serengeti, set within the iconic Kogakuria Kopjes with views out over the Mara River Valley and Lamai Wedge.
HOW TO GET THERE: Fly in (from Arusha, Dar es Salaam or other nothern Tanzania locations) using one of the daily scheduled flights (airstrip is Kogatende). Drive in from other northern Serengeti camps.
ACCOMMODATION: Mkombe’s House has 2 en-suite open-fronted double/twin rooms (can be zipped closed) plus 2 secure children’s bedrooms, each sleeping 3 children. All rooms en-suite with running water and flush toilets. Sleeps up to 10 comfortably (4 adults, 6 children). There is no minimum age.
The House is entirely self-contained with it’s own dining room and lounge, plunge pool and larger swimming pool and outside chill-out areas. Guests are looked after by dedicated waiting and house-keeping staff and an in-house chef. Meals are freshly prepared on-site after discussion with guests. We provide a baby-sitter where required.
ACTIVITIES: Game drives, guided walks (12yrs and over), bush picnics and sundowners. Good chance of Mara River crossings (from July to October) and good all-year round resident game. Mkombe’s House, Lamai pairs nicely with Kibe Point in Selous Game Reserve and particularly with Nduara Loliondo where there is more flexibility and freedom for child-friendly activities than in National Parks.
OPEN: Year round except from mid March to end May when Mkombe’s House Lamai usually closes for maintenance.
