Day 1 - Arusha
- Arrive into Kilimanjaro airport where Nomad will be waiting to meet you and drive you across to Rivertrees Country House in Usa River (approx 40 minutes).
- Spend your first night here at one of our favourite places in the foothills of Mt Meru.

Day 2 - Lake Manyara & Crater Highlands
- After breakfast Richard and guides will collect you and, armed with picnic lunches, head out of Arusha. You'll drive up to Lake Manyara National Park (about a 3hr drive), spending the afternoon game viewing in the forests and around the lake; the park is well known for elephants, lion, buffalo, zebra and general plains game, plus it's a birders paradise at this time of year (European migrants and a whole host of raptors and water birds).

- In the late afternoon drive up into the Ngorongoro Highlands, overnighting at Plantation Lodge in Karatu.

Day 3 - Ngorongoro Crater

- Spend the day down in the Ngorongoro Crater, it's about a 90-minute drive from Plantation Lodge with beautiful scenery along the way. The Crater is well known for its high density of predators and lion and hyena reign supreme here. You'll also see large herds of zebra, buffalo and elephant, and if you're lucky you might spot a rhino.
-
Drive back to Plantation Lodge in time for sundowners and dinner. Richard is a great story-teller and there is sure to be plenty of humour over dinner.

Day 4 - Southern Loliondo
-
Today you're really on the move as you head off from Karatu, up and over the Crater highlands towards the southern Loliondo plains. The drive is all about stark contrasts of forested highlands to the flat endless short grass plains of the Greater Serengeti eco-system.

- Arrive at Nduara Loliondo late afternoon in time to stretch your legs with a short walk. Loliondo could be said to be Richard's favourite area in Tanzania, mainly because you can walk anywhere and the scenery is spectacular.

Day 5 - Southern Loliondo
- Because Loliondo is outside of the Serengeti National Park boundaries, this means you have the freedom to do all kinds of things - walking, driving off-road, enjoy picnics and bush dinners, as well as learning something about the Maasai culture - this is an area that we share with them.
- Spend a full day out exploring the area, by car and on foot.

- In the late afternoon, head up a kopje for sundowners and a traditional east Africa bbq under the stars. Overnight at Nduara Loliondo.

Day 6 - Southern Serengeti Plains
- Drive across the endless green plains of the southern Serengeti to Lake Ndutu. The migration will be in full swing in the area; loads of wildebeest, zebra and accompanying predators.

- After a full day on the hoof, with a picnic lunch on route, you'll arrive at Serengeti Safari Camp, in time for sundowners around the fire.

Day 7 - Southern Serengeti Plains

- Spend a full day out game driving in the southern Serengeti plains viewing the large herds of wildebeest and general plains game and predators that accompany them

- Return to Serengeti Safari Camp for your last night.

Day 8 -
- After breakfast you'll drive you to Ndutu airstrip for your flight back to Arusha arriving around mid-day. We've reserved a day room at Rivertrees for you should you need to relax before your onward flight or other arrangements.
