Great game, amazing areas, beautiful camps are all-important factors to the success of any safari. But we think the real make or break element is the guide. For our guests, the guide is the ambassador for all that Nomad believes in; experienced, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate. A good relationship between guide and guest will make the ultimate once in a lifetime experience.
At Nomad, we’ve always held our guides in special regard as an integral part of what makes a Nomad safari ‘a Nomad Safari’. They take pride in finding the more remote areas that are off the beaten track, the out of the way special spots that others often miss. Our guides have traveled the length and breadth of the country, gaining valuable experience in many of Tanzania’s protected areas, as well as spending time in all the Nomad camps. We realise local knowledge is the key to providing the best experience.
It may sound something of a cliche, but our guides really are like a family, with many of them having worked together, and with the company, for many years. From Emmanuel’s loud and infectious laugh, to Chediel’s quiet sense of humour, they make up the core team that helps to drive Nomad’s guiding mission. We admit to being somewhat biased, but we don’t think a safari is complete without one!
