Goat-guarding Maasai Dogs

One of the projects supported by Nomad Trust, Ruaha Carnivore Project, recently called on Kigelia camp crew to help distribute the latest guard dogs for Maasai households. We are always keen to help out with logistics where we can. These dogs are given to families to help protect their livestock (mostly goats) from local lions and other predators. One of the main aims of this initiative is to help reduce the incidence of retaliation kills against lions from communities living side by side with these wild animals.
