Nothing was too much trouble

We are well settled into our life back home, and have had time to digest and reflect on our  wonderful holiday in Tanzania. From the moment we arrived... to saying goodbye to the shaded haven of  Rivertrees, we have had the most unforgettable trip. We have so many memories - the view from the edge of Ngorongoro crater with the mist beginning to clear and watching the herd of elephants moving out of the forest for their early morning drink, driving across the incredible plain to Loliondo with its masses of animals (Gabriel, how do you navigate your way to the camp, there are no roads!!), the sundowner with the Masai singing and dancing,  the breakfast picnic in a meadow of flowers, and even getting stuck in the riverbed as the sun went down! We have the big task now of editing our photographs, which of course triggers a whole lot more memories - the cottage at Gibb's farm with its warming fire, talking to Samuel about Masai customs....

The Nomad staff without exception were friendly, welcoming and efficient, making us feel at home. The tray of tea at 5.30 in the morning and warm water for the shower was just what we needed to get us started for another exciting game drive, and we have no idea how your cooks prepare such tasty food from a tiny kitchen tent in the middle of nowhere. Nothing was too much trouble, we only had to say that it would be nice to sit round a fire when on return from the night drive supper was served under the stars next to a roaring fire. Special thanks of course go to Gabriel who for seven days led us through all the sights and sounds.
