Unique, breathtaking and insightful

Tucked away on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, this jewel of a place was one of the most amazing experiences we have had in our 3 trips to Africa. We stayed for 4 days, had two wonderful sightings of the Chimpanzees (3rd day they went high in the mountains, and despite our best efforts we eventually had to turn back).

Went fishing in the afternoon for our evening tasteful bush-shashimi (and my wife's dinner) as well as swimming in the middle of the lake. I actually went swimming under the watchful eyes of camp staff (had to sign a waiver), and we had a very interesting trip to the mountain waterfalls - well worth the trip but it is not a walk in the park. Robert was our guide and amazing, knowledgable, funny and he took very good care of us, highly recommend getting him if possible.

The rest of the camp staff was equally attentive and took very good care of us when ever we had needs. Lots of small treats, like the sushi, dinner under the stars, visiting a small village with Robert on our trip back to the airport as well as very interesting fellow travelers. Finally thanks to Sacha (Camp Manager) for all his help and the PDF about the individual chimps, it is fascinating reading.
