We both feel it was up there with the best holidays we have ever had.

As regards the safaris, then we experienced all we could have hoped for, we saw several river crossings by Wildebeest, one on a tributary of the Mara that was interrupted by a lion kill mid-crossing, but we will never forget the best crossing of all, as after 8 hours of tracking the herd on the opposite side of the Mara, with several false-alert crossings, and with each passing hour the herd increasing in size, until it likely reached 250,000 in number, we were then treated at the end of the day by the most spectacular crossing imaginable, absolutely stunning, and even highly experienced guides said they had never seen such a spectacle.

We also saw all three big cats, including our best leopard moment ever on the first night safari, and many great lion moments, and saw a solitary and very pregnant and lazy cheetah out on the plain, also wonderful elephant and hyena moments, and so much more to pleasure the senses.

We had two different guides over 5 ½ days of game drives, and both were excellent, though quite different personalities, and the two managers, Clyde and Helen, were simply great, and we even met their predecessors who were great people too, plus Julian and me so enjoyed our contact with certain guests

So Nomad, you get 11 out of 10 from Julian and me.

Therefore if we undertake another East African safari, we will be coming back to Nomad, and likely wanting to visit Katavi and Mahale.
