Situated as we are, outside the park, but still within the Greater Serengeti...
...we can get out on foot and at night as well as during the day in search of wildlife. But game is secondary here. The main reason to come is for the freedom, great landscapes, and the Maasai - custodians of this place.
Loliondo is all about big skies, vast landscapes & the Maasai.
Although the area is part of the Greater Serengeti, Loliondo offers the adventurous visitor so much more - scarcity of other people being a highlight.
In Loliondo, wildlife exists side by side with the Maasai.
For decades, people and animals have rubbed along - each respecting the other. It's fascinating to see how possible, and how aspirational this co-existence can be. We feel that this is one of the more important lessons to take away from a safari.
