Based in Karatu in the Ngorongoro Highlands, the Tanzanian Children's Fund works to improve the lives of marginalised children and families by providing better education, healthcare and microfinance.
TCF not only provides a safe haven for orphaned and vulnerable children at their Children's Village, it also works closely with the Karatu community to provide opportunities to transform lives and bring positive lasting change. Working to improve the prospects of young children and adults, TCF focuses on the whole family unit, knowing that change must be felt throughout a community for genuine results to be achieved. Early child development programs strengthening the foundations for learning and education, youth volunteering schemes for ‘Teacher Students’ otherwise unable to realise their educational potential and careers dreams, and adult training courses providing income-generating skills and opening career opportunities, are just part of their multi-dimensional approach to tackling the systemic poverty in the area.
Nomad supports their work, knowing full well the importance of investing in our future generations, and making sure that communities have the resources and opportunities available to them to be their own agents of change.
