Nomad and the green season
Life enhanced
Award winning camps. Safaris that change lives.
At Nomad our aim is simple, but ambitious. To harness the power of our award winning safaris in Tanzania to create life-enhancing opportunities wherever possible. For our clients, this is the promise of a safari with Nomad. That promise extends to our people and the communities in the remote places we operate, where talent is everywhere, but opportunity is thin on the ground.
Whether inspiring dynamic careers or supporting local suppliers, using our camps for medical outreach or funding free school meals, we know our business has the power to improve lives.
And it’s this that drives everything we do at Nomad.
Our safaris in Tanzania
We’ve always had an enduring obsession with Tanzania’s wild places and our promise remains, giving you a truly original and exhilarating safari experience.
Nomad people
Nomad is our people. Many of us have been together from the beginning. Our family of staff is core to our success, and we are incredibly fortunate to have such a special bunch at Nomad.
Our camps
A string of camps in some of the wildest places on the planet. A front row seat to the best wildlife in Africa. Backstage is the engine room for opportunity.
Life changing experiences
A safari in Tanzania with Nomad is all about life-changing experiences and this remains our promise to you. Totally immersive safaris that will stay with you for a lifetime.

From the moment that we were greeted by Edward (our guide) at Kogatende Airstrip, to the time of our departure after four truly wonderful days at Serengeti Camp 1, we have experienced something exceptional. The location is enchanting. The accommodation is wonderfully comfortable. And every need is met with charm, a warm smile, gentle good humour, and without delay. Each day of safari was a wonder, with the benefit of outstanding guiding from Anthony (whose passion, commitment and humour was inspiring). The food is wonderful - healthy, fresh dishes of ample portion, from the beautiful evening meals down to the packed breakfasts or lunches during the safari day. However, the soul and beating heart of the camp is its personnel - who provide the most wonderful service, delivered with a warm smile and generosity of spirit by an enthusiastic and outstanding team - led with skill by Kanaeli, and including the wonderful Goodluck, Deo and Gabriel.

The Entamanu camp lodge is being transformed - with its tented rooms becoming more permanent structures. Thus, at the time of our visit, there was some limited construction work ongoing. However, this was only during the day (when guests are out at the.Crater), and was entirely out of view. As it is, it is worth it: the new rooms are stunning, with incredible views and very high quality finishes and fittings. It will all be worth the wait. In the meantime, the staff are wonderful - from Jonathan (the manager) with his infectious smile, to Jackson (the waiter) with his warm service and willingness to please. Food is lovely, and there is something magical about being high on the crater rim (where even the summer nights are cold enough to warrant a log fire which welcomes you as you return from a day of safari). This is definitely somewhere to put on your list.
