There’s been a whole lot of pant-hooting at Nomad this week, as the results of the 2025 World Travel Awards were announced, and we’re proud to share that Nomad Tanzania has scooped three major honours in recognition of our camps and the extraordinary crew behind them.
This year’s awards include:
Africa's Leading Safari Lodge 2025 - Greystoke, Mahale
Tanzania’s Leading Safari Lodge 2025 — Lamai, Serengeti
Tanzania’s Leading Tented Safari Camp 2025 — Kuro, Tarangire
“These awards are a celebration of place, of people, and our purpose,” said Mark Holdsworth, Nomad Co-founder “These awards are a tribute to each camp crew, the heart and soul of every safari experience, and to the guests and supporters who visit and support our mission.”
As always, Nomad Tanzania remains focused on its core purpose: creating off-grid, meaningful, low-impact luxury safari experiences in some of the most remote and remarkable corners of Tanzania.

Topping the list, Greystoke, Mahale has been crowned Africa’s Leading Safari Lodge, a remarkable achievement for our castaway lodge in the west. Sitting on the shoreline of Lake Tanganyika, Greystoke is a place like no other: where jungly forest meets sandy beach and the ultimate chimpanzee experience.

Now recognized as Tanzania’s Leading Safari Lodge for the seventh year running, Lamai Serengeti continues to set the standard for light touch brilliance in Northern Serengeti. Perched on the kopje overlooking the vast Serengeti Plains across to the Mara River and beyond, Lamai blends deep wilderness with natural luxury, offering guests a front-row seat to one of nature’s greatest spectacle.

Kuro Tarangire, located in the quieter southern reaches of Tarangire National Park, has secured its fourth consecutive win as Tanzania’s Leading Tented Safari Camp. Set deep in elephant country, Kuro is a camp full of heart, where simplicity, comfort, and authenticity come together.
