Access breathtaking locations you never thought possible

Experience light-touch access to some of Tanzania’s most exceptional wilderness areas; places like Ugalla National Park, the little visited southern boundary of Ruaha National Park, or the stunning Gol Mountains on the eastern boundary of the Serengeti, and the lesser known southwestern section of the Serengeti. With no permanent bush camps or safari lodges, places like this are beyond the reach of most tourists, making them extra special for low impact walking or quiet game drive safaris. In an increasingly crowded planet, the privilege of accessing these magical places is not to be underestimated.

Expeditions in most remote corners of Tanzania

Nomad has many years of experience in seeking out the quieter less crowded areas. We tend to stay away from crowds and create the type of safari we love.

Design your perfect wild days

Charlie is about exploring really cool remote locations and doing so with attention to the small things. The camp is lightweight allowing your location to move within the area over a few days. Time in camp is varied; walk in the cool of the day, head out on a game drive as the evening sun sets or just enjoy quiet moments

Fall off the map for a few days

Explore one of Africa's last great unspoilt wildlife meccas. This is where Nomad can be very Nomad. It's the largest national park in Tanzania, yet with a tenth of the number of visitors of its more famous cousin, the Serengeti.

Magical Stay in Ngoro

A magical stay in Ngoro Province surrounded by wildlife and beautiful scenery. Everything exceeded expectations. One of my favorite vacations ever. We were able to spot all of the wildlife on our wish list.

Wonderful Lodge Experience

I had a wonderful time at the lodge, everything makes you feel at home. Opening the curtains in the morning over the crater and having the visit of animals was a lovely surprise. I wish to visit again.

In the field with Nomad

Charlie is safari in it's truest form. When I am here, I feel like I am doing the work I was trained to do — reading the land, following the animals, and being in the right place at the right time.

I love Charlie because it reminds me why I became a guide. There is no showing off here, no rushing — just good guiding, good teamwork, and respect for the bush. For me, Charlie is honest safari, the way it was before everything became too easy. It’s not for everyone, and that’s okay, because if we all liked the same things in life, it would be boring.

Pay Mbaryo

Sweet dreams are indeed made of this.

In a grove of sausage trees in Ruaha National Park on the banks of the Ifuguru River, in the best game area in the park.

Built on one of the most magnificent sites in the northern Serengeti, the Kogakuria Kopje, Lamai overlooks the area’s rolling grasslands – through which the great migration pours from July to October.

Mkombes House is a must if you are looking for a whole Serengeti experience! We took our family of 8 and loved it. Highly recommend.

Safari game drives are commonplace on the continent, but few do them like Nomad. Its camps are not only located in some of the most far flung corners of the country, but are a mix of permanent sites, removable tents that disappear with the seasons, and mobile camps that mirror migration routes.
