Hamza Mmole

Hamza Mmole has been with Nomad for over 20 years! He started as a walking safaris porter in 2005 - for Richard Bonham's famous walking safaris - in what was then the Selous Game Reserve. Since then he has worked his way up to becoming the manager of our camp there, Sand Rivers.

But to start at the beginning, he was a casual labourer, helping to build the original Sand Rivers back in October 2005. Since then he's worked as a waiter, a junior guide and walking scout, a junior manager, and then the camp manager of Kiba Point. Four years later, the call of guiding sent him to our Greystoke Mahale in the remote Mahale Mountains for two years, before he returned to Sand Rivers.

But his role extends way beyond that, helping to identify other talent coming up through the ranks, Hamza mentors and nurtures to provide opportunity in every way possible. With people like Hamza in our team, we know that Nomad is in good and trusted hands for the future
