Eddie Burra
Northern Guide

Eddie was born and raised between the city of Arusha, and the village called Karatu on the southern slopes of Ngorongoro Highlands. He is married and has two lovely daughters. Spending his childhood surrounded by the forests of the highlands is what started his lifelong love and passion for animals and the environment.
Eddie has been a professional safari guide for over 15 years, marvelling in all things natural, from insects, wild flowers, reptiles, mammals to star gazing. His love for birding grows every day.
During his long career in guiding Eddie has contributed to community and conservation projects across the country, specifically in several which primarily focused on cheetah movements and the lifestyle of the Massai in the Crater region, monitoring the effect of lives being lived alongside lions and hyena’s.
Eddie joined us at Nomad in 2016 and we’re delighted to have him on our team. He’s won prizes for his storytelling abilities – so do ask him a thing or two about his life spent in the wild places of Tanzania. He has a passion for the bush and an enthusiasm for life that knows no bounds.
