On the road to Entamanu
Begin your safari driving from the bustling town of Arusha and head west along the Maasai Steppe. A journey of around four hours will see you skirt the edges of Lake Manyara National Park and through the towns of Mto Wa Mbu and Karatu on your way into camp for a delicious late lunch.
Day 1
Entamanu, Ngorongoro
As you pass through the park gates, the canvas of the Ngorongoro landscape begins to unfold before you. Our private 9-kilometer driveway winds its way up the slopes, offering a tantalising glimpse of the wild abode that awaits.
Our secluded location ensures a sense of blissful isolation, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the primal rhythms of this ancient place. As you arrive and take in the panoramic views, the hustle and bustle of the outside world melts away, replaced by a tranquility that signals the start of your green season journey.
Day 2
Ngorongoro Crater
As the first golden rays of dawn break over the Entamanu cottages, you'll be gently roused from your slumber with the aroma of fresh-brewed coffee and tea. Gather your safari gear and set out with excitement.
Nomad guides, who have spent decades honing their wilderness wisdom, are masters at navigating these dramatic landscapes while skilfully avoiding the crowds. The true pleasure of the Crater lies in experiencing its boundless wonder in solitude. And so, as you descend into the caldera, you'll be met with a breathtaking panorama untainted by human presence - sweeping grasslands teeming with a staggering diversity of wildlife, from the mighty elephant to the elusive black rhino.
Entamanu to Kusini
Wave an early goodbye to the lovely Entamanu team and set off for the Serengeti. This is a beautiful drive watching the change in landscape and ecosystem.
Day 4
Kusini
Your journey brings you into the wide, open spaces of the south-western Serengeti, where Kusini sits quietly beneath vast skies and far from the busier routes of the park.
After settling into camp, head out on your first game drive, exploring sweeping grasslands and seasonal watercourses that draw wildlife in. With few vehicles and a strong sense of space, these early hours set the tone for the days ahead.
As the light softens and the heat fades, return to camp to unwind. A cold drink, the sounds of the bush, and dinner beneath the stars mark the beginning of your time at Kusini.
Day 5 & 6
Exploring the Open Plains
These days are led by the movement of wildlife rather than the clock. Unhurried game drives take you out across the open plains, an environment particularly well suited to cheetah, which are frequently seen hunting in this wide, open country.
Between drives, you may choose to explore on foot with a guided walk, offering a quieter, more intimate perspective on the landscape. There is also the opportunity to spend time with the Serengeti Cheetah Project, learning how long-term research is helping to protect one of Africa’s most iconic predators.
One morning, you may choose to rise before dawn for an optional hot air balloon safari, drifting silently over the plains as the day begins, followed by a bush breakfast in the open wilderness.
When it is time to depart, enjoy a final game drive before your scheduled flight from the nearby airstrip, or continue your journey on to another Nomad camp.
Fly from Serengeti to Arusha
After breakfast in camp, enjoy a final drive across the plains to the nearby airstrip. From here, board your scheduled flight to Arusha, passing close to Ol Doinyo Lengai and offering impressive views across the surrounding highlands and volcanic landscape.
