"Special Camp"

We spent a great five days at Sand Rivers in early Feb 2024 enjoying both wonderful game viewing and fishing with our excellent guide Gerard and the hospitality of the fantastic camp team - a very special camp.

Sand Rivers Selous is such a magical place and where we spent part of our honeymoon to Tanzania. Being close the wildlife and river so that even when we were at “home” relaxing we could be up close and personal with the Nyerere park beauty. Every activity was so special and e couldn’t even pick a. Favorite. Pi was one of the most knowledgeable guides we have ever had and we leaned a lot from him. Fishing was exciting and the meals were each delicious and so well thought out. If we ever get the opportunity, we would love to come back again.

Fabulous Lodge Experience

What a very special place to spend a few days. The lodge is fabulous, wonderful swimming pool looking out of the river and the hippos. Very comfortable rooms and the communal areas super comfortable. The staff led by Bernadette could not have done more for us. 5* experience.

Glorious River Views

Sand Rivers, Nyerere is a wonderful camp with glorious views of the River. Bernadette and the team make you extremely welcome and go out of their way to ensure that you have a memorable stay. Sand Rivers, Nyerere is a wonderful camp with glorious views of the River. Bernadette and the team make you extremely welcome and go out of their way to ensure that you have a memorable stay. Meals are delicious and very well presented. There is a large amount of game to be seen in the surrounding area and the river is an added bonus with boat trips available and fishing. Our guide was excellent and we enjoyed drinks in the bush and a bush breakfast. We were sad to leave.

Magical Experience

Such a magical experience. I have been on safari before and traveled a lot (both on a budget and luxury) - this was truly extraordinary and magical and the best by a considerable margin.

Delightful Retreat

Sand Rivers is a delightful retreat with a beautiful view of the river & its wildlife. The food & staff were beyond wonderful! A hidden gem & one of a kind!
